Prof. Juyang Weng

Biography:
Prof. Juyang Weng received the BS degree from Fudan University, in
1982, M. Sc. and
PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 1985 and 1989, respectively, all
in computer science. Prof. Weng is an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Humanoid
Robotics, the Editor-in-Chief of the Brain-Mind Magazine, and an associate editor of the IEEE
Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development (now Cognitive and Developmental Systems). With
others’ support, he initiated the series of International Conference on Development and Learning
(ICDL), the IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development, the Brain-Mind Institute, and the
startup GENISAMA LLC. He was an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Recognition and
Machine Intelligence and the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.
Prof. Lin Zhang

Biography:
Lin Zhang, is a professor of Beihang University. He received the B.S.
degree in 1986 from
the Department of Computer and System Science at Nankai University, China. He received the M.S. degree
and the Ph.D. degree in 1989 and 1992 from the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University, China.
From 2002 to 2005 he worked at the US Naval Postgraduate School as a senior research associate of the US
National Research Council. He served as the President of the Society for Modeling and Simulation
International (SCS), the executive vice president of China Simulation Federation (CSF). He is currently
the president of Federation of Asian Simulation Societies (ASIASIM), a Fellow of SCS, ASIASIM and CSF, a
chief scientist of the National 863 Program and National Key R&D Program of China. He serves as the
Director of Engineering Research Center of Complex Product Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Ministry of
Education of China, Editor-in-Chief and associate editors of 8 peer-reviewed international journals. He
authored and co-authored more than 300 papers, 20 books and chapters, among Clarivate Highly Cited
Researchers in cross-field. He received the National Award for Excellent Science and Technology Books,
the Outstanding Individual Award of National High-Tech R&D Program, the National Excellent Scientific
and Technological Workers Awards, and the SCS Outstanding Professional Contribution Award. His research
interests include service-oriented modeling and simulation, cloud manufacturing and simulation, model
engineering, model based system engineering, cyber-physical systems, M&S for manufacturing systems, etc.
Prof. Xiangjian He

Biography:
Professor Xiangjian (Sean) He is a National Talent of China with a Chair
Professor title, and in list of the 'World Top 2% Scientists' reported by Stanford University in 2022,
2023, etc. He is currently the Deputy Head of Computer Science School, the Lead of Research Groups of
the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Director of Computer Vision and Intelligent Perception
Laboratory at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China (UNNC).
He was the Professor of Computer Science and the Leader of Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Laboratory at the Global Big Data Technologies Centre (GBDTC) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) from 2011-2022. He led the UTS and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) joint research project teams winning the 1st Runner-Up prize for the 2017 VIP Cup, and the champion for the 2019 VIP Cup, awarded by IEEE Signal Processing Society.
He has been carrying out research mainly in the areas of computer vision, data analytics and machine learning in the previous years. He has recently been leading his research teams for deep-learning-based research for various applications. He has played various chair roles in many international conferences such as ACM MM, MMM, ICDAR, IEEE BigDataSE, IEEE BigDataService, IEEE TrustCom, IEEE CIT, IEEE AVSS, IEEE ICPR and IEEE ICARCV.
